I can’t believe my eyes
I’m a barfly just like in the movie
A Blissful morning drunk
Clinging to my chair
Squinting my eyes as the sun bleeds through
The crack under the doorway of Anchorage
Somewhere in Talkeetna there’s an on your honor store
There’s a radio station playing all my favorite songs
It’s cause i know the DJ
She knows just what to play
She plays it for today
Cause she knows there’s no tomorrow
There’s no tomorrow in this song
I knew there wasn’t all along
I’m not planning out my future
In my future i’m gonna be dead and gone
Just like there’s no forgiveness hone
There’s no tomorrow in this song
Grady bought a rifle
Jacky bought a forty four
They’re calling it survival
They are ancient as the Vietnam war
You got such a lovely scar
Hold it dear your precious wound
Hold it up like a trophy
Take it through your life in to the tomb
It’s 1 a.m.
you’ve got to tell me why the sun’s still shining
I crossed the arctic circle
Skidded into Dead Horse today
Went past the last tree standing
Over the Brooks Range
But you gotta pay a toll
or you might even get arrested
If you try to dip your feet
Into the Prudhoe Bay
Met a bush pilot
A bush pilot brave and strong
Next thing you know it
You know my pilot friend is gone
See he went to close the base camp
On the glacier in Denali
The weather closed out
In the morning all they found
Was a cracked up plane
And three casualties
There’s no tomorrow in this song
I knew there wasn’t all along
I’m not planning out my future
In the future i’m gonna be
Dead and gone
Just like there’s no forgiveness honey
There’s no tomorrow in this song

Just saw them performing much of this album on their west coast tour. San Diego and Pioneertown dates. Didn’t know any of them lol. I’m all about their old shit but I like this. Playing it more and more. Appreciate the evolution of one of my favorite bands in the world since middle school! 🖤 Red
