Take a left turn in Boise
Roll on down to Reno
Got three nights in a hotel for free
So i bought an air mattress
And i floated down the Truckee
To the center of the littlest big city
I watched as the leaves twisted green into silver
In the breeze on the bank of the old Truckee River
At nighttime the sunburn
Will give me a shiver
I play my last soaking wet twenty dollars
On a Wheel of Fortune machine
For all my spun out dreams
Love was a whirlwind
Clouded our vision
Cotton clouds of heaven on the earth
Twas a pinball decision and a snapshot division
Why’d you have to tell me what it’s worth
Cause i’d rather by blinded by cotton and clouds
And i’d rather hear symphonies playing too loud
I’d rather have sweetness and love in this life
Than be bitter alone and all drunk every night
Playing Wheel of Fortune machines
Spinning out my dreams
Dream dream and you dream
I’ve jumped to conclusion
Mostly delusion
All the things i cooked up in my head
I thought you were against me
But you backed me up instead
All the things i made up in my head
But the future is beaming bright on the coast
And the oysters are ripe and ready for the roast
And all of the chances that could have been lost
If you never gamble it’ll never pay off
On the Wheel of Fortune machine
You’ve gotta spin it for your dream
Dream dream and you dream

Just saw them performing much of this album on their west coast tour. San Diego and Pioneertown dates. Didn’t know any of them lol. I’m all about their old shit but I like this. Playing it more and more. Appreciate the evolution of one of my favorite bands in the world since middle school! 🖤 Red
